Hosting images tutorial
- First step:Saving the image to your computer. Go to the template you've chosen. Right click. Save image as.
- Second step: Finding the right host
- Third setp: Uploading the images
- Final step:replacing URLs
First of all, you'll need a host that allows hotlinking, that is, that allows you to use the image in sites outside of their domain. For example, Geocities does not allows hotlinking, while Ourworld does.
Here's a list of some hosts you could use:
-Diaryland-Paid. Diaryland gold acounts give you space for image hosting, it does not allow hotlinking, so work only for diaryland users.
-Ourworld-Free. Registration needed. Space 20MB, no bandwith limit.
-Photobucket - Free.Must create acount.25Mb space, 1500MB bandwith.
-a free image host - Free. Must create acount. 5MB space, 1gig bandwith.
-Image shack-Free. You don't have to register, but it's always easier to control your images if you do. There's no space or bandwith limitattions, but each image you upload must be less than 1024kb in size.
-Picgoo- Free. No registration needed. No bandwith or space limits, but each image you upload must be less than 1024kb in size.
I can't help much here, you must find your way depending on which host you've chosen.
Once you've uploaded your images copy the URLs (they'll look like this : http://your image host name and such/ your file name.jpg/gif/etc. Ex: http://www.afreeimagehost.com/upload/3207/daybreak.jpg). Now just go to your codes and replace hte original URLs with the new ones.
